I am Wes Brown's sister. Willis S. Brown's daughter and
Guy Taylor Coggin's grandaughter. Just wanted to let you know that the Miami Fire Dept.'s retirement funds supported my Mom Lucile well after my Dad passed away. Any time she had a question she would call and they would help her with
courtesy. We have fond memories of visiting the Fire Dept. Station 1 to watch the Orange Bowl Parade down Flagler.
I remember the coral rock fish pond out front as well. Thanks for all you have meant to us through the years. I'm so happy Wes has been able to share the photos we saved from the past.

I'm a retired Miami Police officer, who now lived up in Tennessee. I'm listed on the MPD vets web page. Some of you may remember me. I was on the SWAT team when your rescue personnel FIRST went through the SWAT program. I'm also the one who used to carry that fake hand that I put underneath the wrecked cars....

Anyway... I'm with the Dodson Branch Vol. Fire Dept., out of Jackson Co., (Gainesboro) Tenn. Being on the fire dept. here, we have to provide our own fire trucks, pay for the fuel, upkeep, and other things, like a fire station, and all the electric for the station. ALL bills are paid by our going door to door, or having fund raising events.

I was told by one of our active police officers in Miami that sometimes the Miami Fire Dept would donate vehicles and equipment, as a write-off. I would like to try to find out who I would contact to see if we could possibly obtain some of this equipment. There are 7 volunteer departments in the county under the same situation.
